Registration, Payment, and What to bring to Class:

Registration:

We do not do online registration because it is important to control the size of the class and make sure that you are signing up for the class that best suits your needs! Please call or email regarding the class in which you are interested.

Payment

Once you are registered for a class you have several options for payment. We request a deposit of half the class cost to hold your spot in the class. Your instructor will tell you what that amount is. You have several options:

What do I bring to class?
  1. Your dog (A hungry dog is a motivated dog so please avoid feeding before coming to class!) on a
  2. Flat buckle, martingale-style, or gentle leader-type collar (What are these?). No-pull harnesses (such as an EZ Walk Harness) are also acceptable in some classes. If you prefer to use a harness, ask your instructor! Please do not bring your dog on a choke chain or a prong collar.
  3. A 6 foot leash - leather is best - if the leash slips through your hands it won't cut you like a nylon leash will. For some classes a different length of leash is required - your instructor will make sure you know this before you come to class.
  4. Lots of tiny tasty soft treats. For most dogs treats should be no larger than a pencil eraser, and even smaller for small dogs. Treats should be high-value (from the dog's perspective). Usually this will be premium dog treats, string cheese, hot dogs, roast beef, etc... These are preferable to treats that have lots of preservatives - i.e. Beggin' Strips, Pupperoni, etc. What usually does NOT work well is the dog's dry kibble, Cheerios, or hard dog cookies. While your dog may love these at home they quickly lose their appeal when in a new place with new smells, new dogs and people around. To test if your treats are good enough, go a block out of your usual route when out for a walk, and when another dog is in sight, pull the treat out and ask your dog to do something (like "Sit"). If he is still interested in the treat, and not the new surroundings or the other dog, then you have found a high-value treat!
  5. Something to carry your treats in. It should be attached to your and the treats should be easily accessible in order to reward your dog quickly. (Why is this important?)
  6. Materials to clean up after your dog. You will want to arrive before class a few minutes early to walk your dog to allow them to potty before coming into the building. While they may "go" before you leave the house, often the excitement of the car ride, and of arriving somewhere may trigger the need to "go" again. Please pick up after your dog - we want our neighbors to like us being in this facility!
  7. These forms - filled out: Student Info Sheet and Waiver Click to open PDF files.
  8. Copies of your Vet records to show your dog is current on shots. We also want to see proof of a negative fecal test, and recommend a bordatella vaccination (this is for kennel cough).
  9. The remainder of the class fee if you only paid the deposit.

If you need any of the above items, we have a small retail area where we have premium treats, leashes, collars, and enrichment toys!

We look forward to meeting you and your pup!
