As it is with many dog trainers, Sonja's training experience began with horses. It was a life-long fascination with animals that led Sonja Klattenberg to the University of Kassel in Germany, where she learned to study animal behavior during animal husbandry courses on the way to her B.S. in Agricultural Science. Learning about the ethology of domastic animals has been invaluable in Sonja's pursuit of dog-training, offering a unique and beneficial perspective. Sonja spends her time training and competing with her 2 dogs in agility. They have also taken a crack at flyball, rally obedience, sheep herding and lure coursing. She is a CGC evaluator and a APDT member. Sonja, Misty and Pilot have recently joined the 'task force' of Wild Goose Chase, Chicagoland's premier Canada Goose Management company. |
Dogs have always been a huge part of Kim's life. When she got her first puppy, a rambunctious & exuberant boxer puppy, training became a must and was the beginning of her passion for well mannered dogs! That puppy taught her - not only can dogs learn manners but they can have a lot of fun doing it! Through the years she has continued training dogs of all ages. Another passion is puppy socialization. She supervises socialization sessions on a large scale. Kim also teaches group and private classes for all levels, does in home training and assists people in training their dogs to be therapy dogs. Presently she has 2 certified therapy dogs with Therapy Dogs International. |

In 1999 Julie Dorsey started out with her first dog, Keri, by taking both agility and obedience classes and quickly fell in love with dog training. Since then, she has trained, titled, and competed at the highest levels and thoroughly enjoys it. She now teaches other people to love training their dogs as much as she does. Her teaching style is all about having a good time with your dog and getting your dog to be anxious and eager to learn. This is accomplished by using humane and positive methods which reward the dog for performing a certain behavior instead of correcting a dog for doing it wrong. This way the dog learns much easier and the bond that is created between the dog and handler is strengthened. She loves and shares her life with three Dobermans and a Weimaraner. Chris has been involved in dog training for 17 years, starting out with obedience and focusing on agility for the past eight years. Chris has been instrumental in helping the "elder" family dogs achieve Advanced (Champion) and Masters level agility titles in United Kennel Club and American Kennel Club programs. He has been spending a lot of time lately at training the young dogs in preparation for agility, obedience, rally, and flyball competition.
Chris has been a contributor and teacher for Wiggles-n-Wags since its inception and has been a guest instructor at a number of other training facilities. He is an Advanced and Intermediate level instructor for Windy City Agility Club, where he also holds down the Vice President and Agility Trial Chairman's positions. He has also taken (attended) seminars, workshops, and advanced classes with a number of nationally known agility instructors.
Chris brings a lot of enthusiasm to his teaching, likes to incorporate his broad sense of humor, and loves to have students achieve a "lightbulb" moment and experience the joy of doing "a dance with your dog".
